Abstract:Objective On the basis of routine use of antihypertensive drugs, the effect of applying traditional Chinese medicine foot massage to treat essential hypertension and sleep quality in patients with insomnia. Methods A total of 120 patients with essential hypertension and insomnia admitted to Laobu Hospital in Dongguan City from December 2019 to January 2021 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. Both groups of patients were given conventional western medicine and modified Chaihu plus Longgumuli Decoction intervention therapy. On this basis, the observation group was combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage. The treatment time was8 weeks. The blood pressure, sleep quality score, TCM syndrome score and clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were compared. Results Compared with before treatment, both the control group and the observation group could effectively reduce blood pressure, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score and TCM syndrome score after 8 weeks of treatment (P<0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, the blood pressure, PSQI score and TCM syndrome scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33% , and the control group was 80.00%, the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion On the basis of conventional integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment, combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage, not only can reduce the blood pressure level of patients with primary hypertension and insomnia, reduce clinical symptoms, but also improve the quality of sleep of patients, the effect is significant, and it is worthy of further promotion.
